myCAR – The next generation in interactive ECU communication for Test and Diagnosis at MOST Forum

Jena (Germany) 16 February 2010 - At the MOST Forum on 23rd March 2010, GOEPEL electronic exhibits myCAR, a concise and easy-to-handle software suite for the fast and uncomplicated daily handling of engine control units (ECU). It is a hardware independent application including all available communication interfaces.

For instance, it is possible to work in a CAN network, simulate a LIN participant and establish a MOST data channel. myCAR can be configured according to customer requirements and extended at any time. By reason of an abstraction layer on driver level (API), myCAR can be universally used for nearly all interface devices, thus users can change trouble-free to a different hardware platform during changing edge conditions.

At the start of myCAR, all software components are loaded and available information from the hardware explorer’s set-up to initiate the hardware applied. myCAR utilises assigned logical interfaces that can optionally be routed to different devices/interfaces.

Complex functions, e.g. rest bus simulation, are implemented via menu items, where they are configured and executed by means of a smart macro. This means that a comprehensive rest bus simulation is available by a simple sequence of commands in compressed format. The advantage is that no complicated interfaces must be created for the smart macro library, and complex connections are displayed by simple components (smart macros). Therefore it is now possible to import, translate and play sequences from GOEPEL electronic’s ProgramGenerator.
